Our Story

More Than 50 Years of Trusted Pet Care

Since 1967, Idlewire has remained a family-owned and operated pet care facility built on trust, compassion, and a genuine love for animals. What began as a small family passion has grown into a full-service destination for dog and cat boarding, daycare, luxury lodging, grooming, and carefully selected retail products, including quality pet foods chosen to support everyday health and well-being.

Everything we do is guided by a simple belief: pets deserve to be cared for as if they were our own. From attentive care and thoughtful routines to the foods and supplies we carefully select to carry in our retail store, every decision is made with comfort, safety, and consistency in mind. Through continuous improvements to our facility, services, and offerings, we give pet parents confidence and peace of mind – a commitment that has earned the trust of generations of local families and continues to define how we care today.

We've done the daycare several times and my dog always comes back happy. We've done boarding once and upgraded to the cabin with the camera which was a really nice touch being able to check in with him. Overall a great place and the pricing seems good for everything they do.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So grateful for Idlewire and their expertise and professionalism. The booking process was so easy and I loved all of the updates I received while they were caring for my sweet 15 years old Leo while I was away. He was, without a doubt in excellent hands with the manager and staff. He was fed on time and received his insulin shots on time, and he was tended to with such loving and tender care. I can’t imagine finding a better place to take my fur babies.
Won’t be going anywhere else! ❤️🫀

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My pets experience was perfect. I took him somewhere else before and from his behavior I could tell he didn’t like it and had a bad experience.
When I picked him up from Idle Wire he was happy with his tail curled up. Could totally tell it wasn’t a bad experience for him. Thanks for taking care of the smallest member of my family.
