Our History
Since 1967
Idlewire has remained a family-owned and operated pet care facility built on a foundation of love, trust, and innovation.
1967 Idlewire Is Established
Idlewire opens as a family-owned pet care business, built on trust, care, and long-standing relationships with local pet families.
1974 Flagship Location Opens
The Harrison Blvd location becomes Idlewire’s long-term home, centrally located and designed to support a wide range of dog and cat care services.
2004 Mountain Dog Adventures Begins
An off-site hiking and enrichment program launches, offering outdoor adventures for dogs. This service later continues through Idlewire’s partnership with The Pet Concierge
2016 Current Ownership Takes the Lead
New ownership continues Idlewire’s family-owned legacy, investing in facility upgrades, expanded services, and long-term quality of care.
2019 Facility Modernization
Major renovations begin with upgrades to grooming and bathing spaces, marking a new phase of modernization and reinvestment.
2021 Advanced Air & Climate Systems Installed
Three new HVAC systems are installed with enhanced filtration, UV treatment, fresh air exchange, and consistent year-round climate control.
2023 Major Lodging & Play Yard Upgrades
Play yards are fully renovated, luxury lodging is introduced, and boarding spaces are upgraded with new flooring, lighting, and custom glass enclosures.
2024 Expanded Hours & On-Site Care
Customer hours and caregiver coverage are significantly expanded to better serve pets and their families.
2025 Expanded Care Through Trusted Partnership
Idlewire partners with The Pet Concierge to extend care beyond the facility, offering in-home services and specialty experiences when off-site care is the better fit.
2026 Luxury Cat Spaces Introduced
Cat boarding areas are now a premium experience with enriched spaces and live camera access. Together with a logo update, adding a cat reflects our ongoing commitment to exceptional feline care for years to come
